Through Jack Conway’s partnership with Conway Financial Services, we offer Department of Veterans Affairs home loans. They are available to veterans, active service members, National Guard, reservists, and spouses.
CFS explains that “All VA Loans are backed by the U.S. Government through a VA Entitlement. This Entitlement makes it easier for you to qualify for a loan because it represents the amount that the government would pay to the lender if you default – it’s like government-sponsored loan insurance that you get automatically for dedicating your service to our country. You can use it for refinancing your current mortgage or purchasing a new home.”
Veterans Affairs hits close to home, for one Jack Conway agent in particular. Teresa Roth is an agent in Conway’s Hanover office, and she strives to help veterans find a home and educate them on the opportunities available to them.
Teresa has a son that is serving in the Army National Guard. With other family members that have served, Teresa said it is a great honor to help them find a home.
“I have been able to adjust my First Time Home Buyers class to cater to the needs of the currently serving military,” said Teresa. “By really knowing what is needed by them and what is available in today’s market, I have been able to help so many find their home. I must say it is the most rewarding.”
According to CFS, not having a Veterans Affairs loan means that you are giving up the benefits that you’ve earned through your military service. CFS is available to help veterans refinance into a lower-rate loan, even if they already have a VA loan through another lender.
Teresa works to make sure that active military members are aware of their home ownership options.
“Just before my son’s deployments I met with the group of people deploying with him,” said Teresa. “I discussed the market, the cost of homes and the details that the VA require for a purchase. I gave them a few mortgage brokers to work with so they know what they need to focus on while they are away.”
Teresa said that helping these military members have a plan in place during their deployment was a blessing, and when they returned, she was able to help five of them purchase a home. Through her work with those military clients, Teresa found interest from others, who wanted to meet with her.
A past National Guard client of Teresa’s said, “Teresa at Jack Conway sets the foundation for Veterans to make a home a reality.”
From her past work with veterans and active military, Teresa was asked if she would lead a class at Massasoit college in their VET education department. She is now working on scheduling the class for the spring.
